Consider how different types of abuse can interlink with the same and different perpetrators.
For example, consider a child experiencing neglect at home, also experiencing sexual abuse by a family friend. Reflect on how this impacts the child, their relationship with other adults and other children, and their ability to make any sort of disclosure.
Reflect on how you feel. Whether or not we are survivors of abuse ourselves, allowing ourselves to think on the experiences of others with empathy can cause a lot of unexpected thoughts and feelings. Take some slow deep breaths and note how you are feeling.
