Consolidating our Learning

As professionals, the onus is upon us to integrate these insights into our daily interactions. Reflect on the following:

  • Self-Awareness: Continually assess your own communication style. Are you vigilant against slipping into language that might inadvertently marginalise or blame those already vulnerable?
  • Active Listening: Prioritise understanding over response. Allow survivors the space to articulate their experiences in their own time and terms.
  • Continuous Improvement: Trauma-informed communication is a dynamic field. Stay informed about emerging research and evolving best practices to ensure your skills remain at the forefront of ethical practice.
