Imara is a Nottingham-based children’s charity offering trauma-informed support for children (aged 4+), young people and safe family members affected by sexual or domestic abuse. Services include one-to-one therapy using play, art, music and movement, CHISVA advocacy, emotional support, practical advice and free legal support throughout police investigations and family court processes. Imara helps with safeguarding, housing, education, and health navigation. All services are free, inclusive and focused on recovery. Referrals are made through police or safeguarding professionals after a disclosure, and Imara’s team works closely with families to build trust, safety and resilience.
