Refuge is the UK’s largest specialist domestic abuse charity supporting women and children fleeing violence, coercive control, financial abuse or tech-abuse. They run the Freephone 24-hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline and live chat, operate a network of refuge accommodation and community outreach services, and provide independent domestic violence advocacy (IDVAs). Refuge offers tech-safety guidance, emotional listening, legal referral support, and safety planning. Services are free, inclusive and available without police reporting. The organisation also campaigns nationally for policy change, funds training and supports survivors to access legal protections such as non-molestation orders. Refuge supports survivors across England and Wales.
