Someone Cares offers free, trauma-informed counselling and support for individuals affected by rape, sexual abuse, childhood abuse and domestic violence. They work with survivors aged 11 and above, as well as those supporting survivors. Services include face-to-face, telephone and video counselling, Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) support, and wellbeing groups. Initial assessments take place in North Shields, with sessions available in Blyth and Sunderland. The organisation supports people of all genders and backgrounds, regardless of whether the abuse was reported. Someone Cares aims to provide a safe, non-judgmental space to begin recovery and regain control.
