The Cultural Barriers to Disclosure of Abuse workshop has been developed in response to cultural themes raised by callers to the NAPAC support line.
The nature of culture can mean that survivors of abuse from various backgrounds will have different needs and face different barriers to disclosure. The workshop will explore the dimensions across which cultures can be similar or different, and what influence this has on the experience of survivors.
Attendees will be better prepared to consider the individual needs of survivors when handling disclosures or signposting to resources/services.
